Welcome to Co Longford Golf Club’s Inaugural Scratch Cup.
Kindly sponsored by DP WORLD TOUR Physiotherapist PhysioWorks.
We are proud to have over €2,000 sponsorship from PhysioWorks, whose lead physiotherapist works on the DP World Tour, further elevating what promises to be one of the standout competitive events of the season.
We are holding three main events including Senior, Junior and Intermediate Scratch Cups.

Terms & Conditions
- Competition Overview
The County Longford Golf Club Scratch Cup will be played as a Gross (Scratch) Stroke Play Competition under the Rules of Golf.
The competition will be administered by the Competition Committee of County Longford Golf Club, whose decision in all matters shall be final.
- Eligibility
The competition is open to amateur golfers who:
Hold a current and valid WHS Handicap Index
Are members of an affiliated golf club
Have returned a minimum of 6 Handicap Qualifying Rounds within the previous 12 months
All entrants must provide their:
Home Club
CDH Number (or equivalent WHS ID)
The Competition Committee reserves the right to:
Verify handicaps
- Handicap Categories
Entrants will compete within the following divisions:
Senior: Handicap Index ≤ 2.9
Junior: Handicap Index 3.0 – 9.4
Intermediate: Handicap Index 9.5 – 18.0
- Entry Fees
Members: €15
Visitors: €40
Entry fees must be paid in full at time of entry.
Entries are non-transferable.
The Committee reserves the right to close entries once capacity is reached.
- Format of Play
The competition will be played over 18 Holes.
Format: Single Stroke Play (Gross Scoring Only)
Play will be from the Blue Tees.
In the event of a tie, the winner shall be decided by:
Best last 9 holes
If still tied: best last 6 holes
If still tied: best last 3 holes
If still tied: final hole
If still tied: decision by lot
No handicap strokes will be applied in determining prize winners.

WHS Handicap System Rules
Local Rules of County Longford Golf Club
Any additional Competition Committee instructions issued on the day
- Draw & Tee Times
The draw will be published prior to the event.
Competitors must register at least 30 minutes before their allotted tee time.
Failure to arrive on time may result in disqualification under Rule 5.3a.
- Prizes
Prizes will be awarded in each handicap category based on gross score only.
A competitor may win only one prize.
In the event of insufficient entries in a category, the Committee reserves the right to amend prize allocations.
- Conduct & Etiquette
All competitors are expected to:
Maintain proper golf etiquette
Adhere to the club dress code
Observe pace of play guidelines
Respect fellow competitors, staff, and course property
The Committee reserves the right to disqualify any player guilty of serious misconduct.
- Cancellation / Alteration
If circumstances beyond the control of the Club (including weather or course conditions) require cancellation, suspension, or alteration of the competition, the decision of the Committee shall be final.
- Data Protection
By entering the competition, players consent to:
Publication of their name, home club, handicap, and scores
Photography or media coverage associated with the event
All personal data will be processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.
